Family camp
In 2020 Grace Baptist Mission (GBM) planned to hold a family camp at Athelington in Suffolk but this was moved to 2021 (see GBM web site) . Due to fixture congestion we weren't able to run a Family Camp at Root Hill in 2019.
Family Camp 2011
About 70 people came for our 2nd Family Camp at Root Hill Farm
Chris Pegington was our main speaker for the week. He lead the morning devotions on the life of Barnabas.
On Sunday evening he told about the GBM Envision team to Peru that they led back in January. On Monday evening we were due to have Jim Sayers from GBM but there was a mix up with the dates. On Tuesday Nigel Hoad updated us with the latest on the Thames Gateway project to plant a church in Ebbsfleet. Chris spoke on Wednesday evening about Creation and on Thursday Steve Challen from Grace2London updated us on the preparations for the 2012 olympics. david Wilcox, just back from Macedoni spoke on Friday evening
Norman Allin supplied the bookstall and there was a tradecraft stall too.
We had a trip to Littlehampton, climbed Boxhill and spent a lot of time on the campsite with the bouncy castle, trampoline, paddling pool and bouncy slide getting a lot of use.

========== HISTORY ==========
Frank Hollands began farming here in 1922 and his son
Ralph continued until his retirement at the end of the nineties. His son David thought farming was too much like hard work and so, with Esther, began running camps in 1994. Children's camps are held during the May 1/2 term, and the GBM youth camp is held at the end of August.
