In 2025 nearly 90 young people gathered for a great week of Bible teaching, fellowship, lots of chat, discussions, plenty of good food, as well as games and trips out. You can listen to the talks below. The handout Klaas-Jan produced for the book of Daniel is here and a further study handout here

The Youth Camp has been running since 1994 and over the years our invited speakers have included a number of missionaries from Grace Baptist Mission (GBM)

We have every modern convenience at Root Hill! Hot showers, hair dryer, microwave, washing machines, tumble driers, & hot running water.

There is a fully carpeted dining room, armchairs in the lounge, an excellent bookstall & a fully stocked tuck shop at amazing prices. Full-size Snooker table, table tennis, go-karts, unicycle, zorbs, trampolines, bouncy castle, bouncy slide, giant Jenga… etc. etc.

In fact, the only thing that resembles real camping is that you sleep in a tent. Food is of the highest quality – ask anybody who’s been before.

Our main speaker in 2025 Klaas-Jan Gunnink (pastor at Fernwood Community Church, Newark) did a series of talks in the morning from the book of Daniel. then there’s optional games, (football, table tennis, cricket, rounders, netball, volleyball etc.) or trips out by car convoy (e.g. beach, bowling, ice skating, McDonalds etc.)

In the evening meetings in 2025 we had Adam Laughton (Whitstable) on Relationships, Jack Lawther (CARE) on Assisted Suicide, Paul Brunning (GBM) preached from Romans 12 and gave us some missionary highlights and Stuart Harding (Gloucester) introduced the Psalms of lament from Psalm 13. This was followed by lots of discussion & games over supper.

An unofficial video of camp 2024 year can be found here.
You can listen to (or download) the morning talks by Klaas-Jan below (and scroll further down for the 2024 talks by Stuart on the parables of Matthew ch. 13 and the 2023 talks by James Tredgett on the book of Esther)
