Our main speaker in 2026 was Hugh Collier, pastor of Gt Ellingham Baptist Church, Norfolk. (scroll down for talks)

We run a Bursary Fund for anyone who genuinely has difficulty paying for camp. Donations to this fund are welcome.

When booking, campers will be asked if they can afford a £2 donation to the bursary fund in addition to their £10 deposit.

In 2026 over 80 young people gathered for a great week of Bible teaching, fellowship, lots of chat, discussions, plenty of good food, as well as games and trips out. You can listen to the talks below.

The Youth Camp has been running since 1994 and over the years our invited speakers have included a number of missionaries from Grace Baptist Mission (GBM)

We have every modern convenience at Root Hill! Hot showers, hair dryer, microwave, washing machines, tumble driers, & hot running water.

There is a fully carpeted dining room, armchairs in the lounge, an excellent bookstall & a fully stocked tuck shop at amazing prices. Full-size Snooker table, table tennis, go-karts, unicycle, zorbs, trampolines, bouncy castle, bouncy slide, giant Jenga… etc. etc.

In fact, the only thing that resembles real camping is that you sleep in a tent. Food is of the highest quality – ask anybody who’s been before.

Our main speaker in 2026 Hugh Collier (pastor at Gt Ellingham in Norfolk) did a series of talks in the morning from the Beatitudes in Matthew 5. then there was optional games, (football, table tennis, cricket, netball, volleyball etc.) or trips out by car convoy (e.g. beach, bowling, ice skating, McDonalds etc.)

In the evening meetings in 2026 we had Brian Edwards on William Tyndale, Martin Rule (LCM) on Evangelism, Sarah Clay & Paul Brunning (GBM) James Mildred (CARE) spoke on gender & marriage and Stuart Harding (Gloucester) spoke on Guidance. This was followed by lots of discussion & games over supper.
